Whether you are customizing your desktop or just want the recycle bin gone this post is for you.

Right-click on your Windows 7 desktop and choose Personalize.

Now choose Change Desktop Icon settings on the left-hand side.

Then simply remove the check from the box.

You can also use Desktop Icon Settings if you’ve removed or lost system icons on your desktop to restore them easily. To enable the Recycle Bin again you can just put the check back in the setting box.
