The jars and mirrors I purchased from Hobby Lobby. I purchased 2 sizes of hermetically sealed jars in the glassware craft section for $2.25 each. To maximize savings I went on a week when glassware was 50% off which seems like every other week.

If you do not have a Hobby Lobby try Ikea as they have some great jars as shown which I will be using next. Any jar with a diameter of 4″ or more should be fine. Mirrors were on the same aisle, I used 2″ round mirrors which came 10 to a pack for $1.39. Use square, round or whatever floats your boat just stay under 2 1/2″ diameter.

They are called Sun Jars and are a wonderful outside addition to your deck or garden area. Available from retailers at a cost of $30 up to $50 I wanted to make some for myself and some friends. Being the cheap economical person I am I wanted to create a Sun Jar as cheaply as possible. The results were great and the Sun Jars were enjoyed by everyone that received one.

Here’s my step-by-step guide to building a Sun Jar simple to build and much less expensive than any I have seen to date.

I put my own little shopping list into store form as it is easier than keeping up with what I like when I see it. It saves on the amount of bookmarks also. Looking at my store and you can see I have a wide range of tastes. Of course it would be easier on both of us for you to just buy the items for me.
