Ancient Roman & Greek Coins

The soldier looks over the goods offered by a vendor near the small village altar. Upon selecting his prize haggling erupts until a price is reached, then dipping into his purse he drops two bronze coins onto the table…

While many people collect coins only a small percentage collect ancient coins. No other hobby can be as rewarding or put into your hands a piece of history dating back up to 3,000 years. My focus is on Greek & Roman coinage and specifically what is called “crusties”.

Can you imagine holding a coin that could have been held & used by a Senator of Rome, a disciple of Jesus, a Praetorian Guard, Egyptian slave, Greek temple worker or even a simple peasant?
