What blogger wouldn’t like a reader or thousand to thank him or her for the time they put into a post, article or guide?
The vast majority of readers couldn’t care less about throwing a donation to the author. However, there will always be those individuals who find your information interesting or helpful. Make it easy for them to send enough change for a cup of coffee or other beverage your way.
Simplicity is best and the Free PayPal Donations plugin for WordPress is just that, simple. Brought to you by Johan of WP Storm this plugin adds a PayPal donation sidebar widget and shortcode to WordPress. The options menu lets you setup your PayPal ID and a few other optional settings.
It comes with standard donation buttons or you can use your own button. You can also set an optional default purpose and reference which can be overridden on each inserted instance with the widget and shortcode options. There are also settings for currency, custom payment page style and the return page. This donation plugin generates valid XHTML code making it a tool you really need in your arsenal.
Johan the plugin author also does something found rarely nowadays, he communicates with his users. If you have any problems let him know. I found him to be very helpful above & beyond what I could have expected after an issue with a bit of CSS.
Enjoy the plugin and don’t forget throw a bit of spare change to those bloggers who amuse, frighten or otherwise entertain you.
P.S. If you are reading this consider yourself entertained since you have read this far. Click, it’s drink time!
