A shiny new desktop toy for you!

Many of you have customized your desktop to some degree, be it changing a screen saver or the background. These are screenshots of two of my desktops as I have customized it, one is from May the other the one I use at present. I’m using a dock as you see on the bottom of screen, widget’s to right and upper left & transparent windows. There is so much more you don’t see in the screenshots. I have full control over the icons, shading and display of all windows along with many other options.

After numerous trials and searching I stumbled across what is in my opinion the best desktop customization program available. It is called Windowblinds and is a part of Object Desktop.

Being a skeptic of most everything I tried the trial version of Object Desktop to see what the big deal was. Once installed I played around with the suites offered and at that point I was hooked! The product is from Stardock and along with the software I discovered they had thousands & thousands of suites, icon packages, widgets & backgrounds available to add on that are created by other users.

While not devoted to desktop customization on the scale that some of the other users are I do enjoy using their creations for my own satisfaction. You will notice the clock, weather & email widgets in both the screenshots had their coloration, blue to aqua green changed by me to match whatever theme I feel like using. In Windowblinds this is a simple matter of just right clicking on an individual widget and changing the color. This ease of use continues into the other products that came with Object Desktop, of which Windowblinds was just a small part.

While some of you have no problem parting with your money I am very frugal. A word of advice take the TRIAL download FIRST then try the program(s) to see if it fits your needs. Abuse it, test drive it & then if you enjoy it buy it as I did. It’s interface is a very smooth way to manage your desktop.
