Wins at Winster!
Well the past few days I have been wasting time at a new gaming site I ran across called Winster.com. It is like Pogo.com was in it’s startup days but with a few twists which I will cover in a moment.
Here’s the official description of this new social gaming nirvana.
Winster.com is a social community where friends help friends solve puzzles to win real prizes. You pick the prize you want to win, then play engaging, fun games until you win your prize.
Our games are specifically designed to foster a sense of community and promote positive interaction. Players cooperate to help each other win prizes, rather than compete. At Winster.com, players play with each other, never against each other.
Sounds interesting doesn’t it? Now I will relay my observations on this new twist on online gaming. Upon playing for the first time I noticed there was a distinct lack of ads and a very simple interface. This was fine as I hate a gaming site with more ads than games. I would like to see the interface changed up to be a little more user friendly but it was not hard to figure out.
There are at present only 10 games to play and slots appears to be where the points are in abundance. Points are traded in for prizes and from what I have seen playing & reading other players profiles there are a lot of winners of tangible prizes. Winster.com has prizes ranging from a $5 Amazon gift certificate(1,000,000 points) to a Kodak Easyshare Digital camera(15,300,000 points). While not the $10,000 cash and Bahamas vacations offered on other gaming sites the prizes offered are actually attainable.
You are given 700,000 points to start with so that first prize can be received in about a month on average as a free player or in 7 – 10 days as a Club Winster member. After 3 days of playing I am at 810,740 points, I joined Club Winster on day 2 which set me back $7.49 a month.
At 25 cents a day I felt it was worth it because of the entertainment value not to mention that on average I should get 1 maybe 2 prizes a month. Nothing is as nice as prizes in the mail that you won playing games online which some people do for years and never win anything.
As a Club Winster member, you get a number of spins every day you come back to play:
Basic Membership – 300 daily spins for $4.99 per month
Silver Membership – 500 daily spins for $7.49 per month
Gold Membership – 800 daily spins for $9.99 per month
Membership benefits include:
Your daily spins accumulate up to ten times your daily allotment.
You get four times as many points in the games as non-members, so you win prizes four times as fast.
No more commercial interruptions.
You can create and play in Private Rooms, send Private Messages, and other benefits.
One of the twists I mentioned before is that no one under 18 is allowed to play which cuts down on the silly chat. Another is that the site is pretty heavily moderated by staff & hosts (volunteers) so spam & annoying players are something I have yet to see. The biggest twist which caught me off guard is that the players are helpful beyond belief.
Winster.com really is about sharing and helping each other win prizes. I am playing slots and have three 7’s, arrows started popping up from two other players wanting to trade. Thinking I was being scammed I clicked no for the trades. It was explained that both of them were giving me their 7’s so I could cash out. Once I got over my embarrassment I realized this also would help me get prizes super fast (evil laughter).
So give Winster.com a shot and see if it is a good fit for you. Play as a free player and if you become addicted as did I then join Club Winster so that you can get your prizes faster. See you in the Slots rooms.

[...] UPDATE – For those over 18 you may wish to read about Winster.com [...]
I just joined the website today, and it sucks! It took forever to spin, making it frustrating, not fun. Then it stopped working altogether! I can’t believe that someone would pay to do that!
Be cautious. Those lags you experience are actually adware and spyware. I ended up having to reformat my hard drive. Guess I didn’t have a good enough fire wall.
I just have the freebie membership and I have not had any real problems with getting in,spinning or freezing. I’m not doing it for the money. I just go in and play and a little chat. Have’nt met any bad people in there yet. Check your computers with a good antivirus. If you go to CNET and find AVG, it is an excellent Antivirus. Also get the registry cleaner as well.
No problems here.Check your hardware.
